So I am not sure how familiar you are with StyleWeek Northeast but I posted about it back in February {here} when the Fall 2013 events in Providence took place. StyleWeek was founded by a dear friend of mine Rosanna Sinel and has been created in an effort to educate and work with emerging designers as they work to gain exposure and build their businesses {a very difficult thing to do as a designer}.  The event has been so successful in Providence that the StyleWeek team launched an interim season Boston version for the first time which will take place over the course of this week at the WHotel Boston.  The goal is to create a platform for designers to show their collections to local buyers from boutiques and department stores, as well as media. They will be doing this over the course of 3 nights beginning on Thursday, and a total of 9 designers’ collections will hit the runway including Boston’s Luke Aaron, and Project Runway Alums Joseph Aaron Segal and Jonathan Joseph Peters.

When the team decided to come to Boston, I was elated to be asked to be involved and have been working hand in hand with them on the planning, and PR outreach.  Working with local talent as they emerge in the fashion world is an amazing honor and it has been so exciting to discover how much talent we are surrounded by in our very own backyard.

In addition to the industry fashion shows,  the W Hotel Boston is hosting some really fun community events in partnership with StyleWeek which are open to the public.  Wednesday’s Get Ready for the Runway {preview} Party featuring an accessories shop where you can shop accessories created by emerging designers, get free hair consultations by James Joseph Salon {newly opened at the W Boston}, sip fashion-themed cocktails {wait until you try the StyleWeek cocktail!!}, and a meet-and-greet with the designers.

Also StyleWeek will be hosting a a designer Atelier,  where you can shop pieces from emerging designers Susan Troy, Jessica Abernethy, and Kara Wickman from 5:30-9:30pm on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights of this week on the second floor of the W hotel {invite below}.

So there you have it!  That’s one of the projects I’ve been working on.  We hope to see you at the W one night this week so you too can be a part of this vibrant emerging fashion community.  And if you can’t make it, I along with the StyleWeek team will be sharing regular updates via twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep you in the loop so be sure to keep an eye out!
